Disgusting Pollen!

Everything here in Greenwood, SC is covered with a thick yellow film- disgusting pollen! You can see your footprints in the coating on the pavement and the cars all look yellow. It is positively gross! Automotive shops are even advertising $5 pollen washes! I am thankful for the pollen because the flowers and trees are so beautiful, but that does not mean I like it. We usually leave the windows open in the spring with the fans on and wait until it gets really hot to turn the air conditioning on, but not this year. I had just dusted and within an hour the table in front of the window had a yellow coating on it- gross! It was decided then and there that we were turning on the air and closing all the windows. We even take our shoes off and leave them on a beach towel at the front door so we won't track pollen all over the house! It's that bad- the shoes are completely yellow on the bottoms! Our little balcony is covered, too. There's no sense in cleaning it yet because, according to everyone down here, it will only get worse! Luckily our allergies haven't acted up too badly. So, while we love South Carolina, we are so glad Kentucky doesn't turn yellow in the springtime!
