Beth and I took the plunge into the car-purchasing market on Friday and replaced her Saturn (which served us well for many, many miles) with a new, quiet, more spacious vehicle. We had been looking at buying new based on how things are with the market right now, but found a great deal on a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. We have both been really excited about driving a hybrid vehicle, both for fuel efficiency and emissions benefits. We were able to get a vehicle with more space than my Jeep Grand Cherokee and better in-city mileage than the little Saturn 4-cylinder (while still having the power of a 268 hp V6). Now Jake can ride comfortably with all the latest and greatest safety features, and grandparents can sleep better at night when we make road trips!
