After church on Sunday, we drove up to DuPont State Forest near Brevard, NC for an afternoon of hiking. Jake slept the whole way there so he was awake for our hike. He loved it! He was wide-eyed checking everything out... the trees, the waterfalls, the people! We had perfect weather with most of the hiking in the shade and not too hot. Actually it was a cloudy day, thankfully. There were lots of people swimming at the base of the waterfalls, but we stayed dry this time. Maybe when Jake's a little older:) This was just a taste of what our fall will be like. We can't wait for the cooler weather when we can keep Jake outside all day and not worry about him overheating! I see lots of hiking on the weekends to come. Yippee!

(We actually ran into a bride and groom getting wedding pictures taken here on a bench that they carried out. Their photographer snapped this picture for us.)
Jake was making cute faces and Daddy couldn't resist taking some photos.
