Jake is growing so fast and doing new things daily! He loves the water in any form, whether it's the bathtub or the pool. He's very vocal these days and always has something to say- sometimes intelligible and sometimes not. He can say mom, dad, ball, bye, bath. fish, duck, shoes, milk ("nook"), and baby. He signs "please" very well and will do it on command or if he really wants something he'll sign it and point to what he wants:) It's precious! He enjoys reading books and loves to go get a book and then sit there next to you for you to read to him. Of course he also enjoys taking a book and climbing into his green chair and reading to himself, too. He understands a lot of what we're saying, which is always neat. He'll get his shoes and try to put them on when we tell him it's time to go bye-bye. When we tell him it's time for his bath, he'll take off crawling down the hall and head straight to the tub.
He also really enjoys being chased, especially when you say, "I'm going to get you!" He starts laughing and takes off! This is pretty funny because sometimes he'll start to crawl away and then turn around and look at you as if to say, "Aren't you going to chase and catch me?" He is so such fun, and we are enjoying all the new changes we see. He has even pointed to my belly and said baby; I talk to him about Sam every day. The other day he took six steps in a row to get to me- twice. Once he made it to me, I put him back and he did it again. However, we haven't seen that again. He is definitely getting closer to walking, though! As long as he can walk before Sam gets here, that's all I ask! I can't imagine climbing the stairs to our second floor apartment with two kids who can't walk. Hopefully I won't have to figure that one out:)
