6 months already?

Today Jake turned 6 months old. It has been an amazing journey so far. So far he is rolling back and forth, sitting alone, and standing by himself while holding onto a solid object. He is able to play in a high chair with us at the table and talks to us throughout. He has grown to love peek-a-boo. He has 2 teeth in the middle of his bottom gums. He absolutely loves to watch what people do and talk to them. We have been so blessed by his sweet demeanor and constant smiling and laughing.

This morning Beth and I took Jake to get his official pictures taken. We weren't quite sure how he would do after having to wait a little bit (Mom and Dad's fault for being a little late for the appointment) but he's a champ and did fantastic. Here are the shots we chose.

Sitting up tall all by himself!
(Most of you know this is a feat that shows he got his physical talent from his mother...his father had trouble balancing his big belly!)

He loved sitting up in this rocking chair.

Such a sweet, sweet face.
The black background makes the red hair stand out.

Jake gets excited about being naked. And baths.
This was a good combination.

Then there were a few great shots that we loved but didn't make the cut to be printed out. Here's some more Jake to love.

We just can't get enough of these sweet smiles.

Gathering his balance in the rocking chair.

That sweet smiling boy is secretly working on ripping off his diaper.

Then there were a few shots where we caught candid facial expressions that weren't adorable enough to buy prints of, but catch your attention and make you wonder what he's thinking. Here are our best guesses...

"I think I can fit this white thing in my mouth."

"What are all those weird noises these women are making? Why is my dad crawling on the floor in front of me? Am I in trouble?"

"They have no idea what I'm making in my diaper..."

"I think that's enough."
(Zoomed in for effect - look closely to see his two bottom teeth!)
