While we were in Asheville we also went driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Unfortunately the Parkway was closed both north and south of Asheville, and we only were able to drive for about twenty miles total before having to turn around. The north was closed for construction and the south was an emergency closure due to recent heavy rains and the high risk of slides. Bummer! We'll definitely have to take a driving trip on the Parkway in the future- it was beautiful! Jake and I did get to stop at the Folk Art Center located on the Parkway. It made us think of Jake's great-aunt Suzy with all the baskets! But don't worry... we like your baskets much better, Suzy:)
