His naps have shortened considerably since he moved to the mattress, but I think it's because he kind of wakes up and realizes he can get up so he doesn't want to try and go back to sleep. Hopefully they'll get longer again once he gets more used to his new bed. Tonight we're going to try sleeping on the mattress so we'll see how that goes. Please pray for this transition, and if you have any suggestions of what worked for you and your children, let me know! I'd love some extra input on this process:)
The big boy bed:)
Jake seemed so big in the crib, but he looks tiny again now that he's on a twin mattress. It's all about perception, I guess. He'll definitely seem big once Sam arrives!
Napping soundly!

Love the bedding!!! When we moved Mahkii at 13mo (in prep for Maezyn needing the crib) it took a while for his sleep to get longer. We did mount a cloth book-holder to the wall in his reach so when he woke up from naps he would grab a book and stay in bed a bit longer reading to himself. Also we put one of those plastic push on/off lights just above the bed so he could turn it on/off himself and he LOVED that, made him feel like a "big boy" turning off his own lights--- only problem the batteries went dead very fast as much as he played with it, but it kept him entertained and allowed us to sleep, well worth it!!! :) Good luck to you guys!
I want to hear more about this. I found a big boy bed for Asher last week so we are thinking about moving him soon. Do you have problems with him getting out of the bed before he goes to sleep?
Jake does look tiny in that bed. So sweet!
