a boy and his papa

It's an understatement to say that Jake loves his Papa. While Papa was here, Jake shadowed his every move. Poor Gammy had a hard time getting attention from Jake. Don't get me wrong, he loves his Gammy, but it's hard to compete with Papa. We had to get Papa to hide every now and then so Jake would realize other people besides Papa were around. Being his mommy didn't mean a thing while Papa was here:) Sometimes this worked in my favor, like not having to empty and clean his little potty because he only wanted Papa to take him to the bathroom!

I was afraid that he would have a major meltdown after Papa left, but he understood that Papa had to go back to Kentucky and pick up Maggie (their dog). Luckily he didn't have a problem. All this to say that Jake has a very special bond with his Papa, and it's so sweet. It really makes me miss my dad because I know he would love my boys and would have been a super fun grandpa just like Papa. I am so glad Jake (and Sam) have a Papa that wants to be a part of their lives and loves them very much. It is such a blessing!

Jake got Papa to crawl through tunnels with him at the park. That's love! Hard plastic doesn't feel so great on the knees when you're older than ten:)

Jake wanted a horse ride while Papa was talking to Sam. Of course Papa obliged!

Jake checking out his mohawk. Gammy and Papa got him these squeaky cowboy boots while they were here, and he wants to wear them all. the. time. Nothing is cuter than a little boy in cowboy boots and his underwear!

Showing Papa how to slide at the playground.

Jake somehow got Papa to push him in the stroller while sitting in Sam's car seat...

All the boys hanging out in the bathroom for a story while Jake went potty. He can be very persuasive when he says, "Please, Papa." in his sweet little voice:)
