porch swing

I put up the porch swing after Gammy and Papa left. We finally picked up some heavy- duty carabiners to fasten the swing into the hooks in the balcony beams, making it easier to take it down or switch to the infant swing. It was so tight before that once the swing was in place it was very difficult to take it down.

Well, Jake loves it! In fact, we usually go out onto the porch after his nap before Sam wakes up. Lately he's been wanting to go out as soon as he has finished breakfast! His favorite thing is to swing and have me blowing bubbles simultaneously:) This way he gets to swing through the bubbles. He really likes this. I can't wait to see how Sam likes swinging once he can sit up better on his own. We've even been able to swing when it's raining and we can't go to the playground. The balcony above keeps us dry!

He dressed himself to go out right after breakfast: airplane jammies (thanks Noah), wool house slippers (thanks Knox and Lucas), his sweater (thanks Uncle Tom and Aunt Sarah), and his bear hat (thanks Nana). It was in the low forties and quite chilly, but he was determined:)

This sweater is his new favorite thing. He always wants to wear it instead of a coat!

He loves swinging very high and touching the back wall with his feet.

Swinging is hard work!

Bubbles and swinging- a great combination!
