The bridges were Jake's favorite part. He would collect rocks and acorns (and hand them to Papa to hold) and wait until we reached a bridge. Then we would spend 15-30 minutes watching him drop them into the water below. If we didn't set a time limit, I think we might still be there dropping acorns!
We only saw a few people, and Jake had plenty of room to run around. We will definitely be going back for more walks and exploration in the future. Maybe next time I'll pack a picnic lunch:)
Posing on one of the bridges.
Nothing beats a shoulder ride on a nice day.
Jake putting rocks in his pocket for later use. I've had to start checking his pockets before washing to make sure there's not still something in there!
Collecting acorns with Papa. Jake quickly discovered that Papa's hands could hold more acorns than his could. Luckily Papa didn't seem to mind:)
Dropping acorns and rocks in the stream below. Jake loved watching the little splashes.
After seeing him lean this far over the rail, I was afraid he might accidentally tumble in while trying to get a better look.
This position made me feel much better:)
