Wow! Has it been seven months already?! Sam was seven months yesterday and is getting so big. He rolls all over the place and sits up just great by himself. He acts like he wants to crawl, but no movement yet. Not that I'm complaining:) He is such a happy little guy, "talking" all the time. Jake loves it and talks back to Sam in his language. Precious! Sam can make four consonant sounds: b, d, g, and m.
He now enjoys rice cereal, oatmeal, and wheat cereal along with sweet potatoes and squash. So far so good. We'll see what happens when we get to the green vegetables:) I really think he'll like Mum-Mums, but they've been out of stock at Wal-mart so we'll have to wait and see.
He's sleeping from 7p-7a like a rock star! Lately he's been going back to sleep for an hour or more after he nurses at 7a. Sometimes he even sleeps until 9a! This has really helped him get a bit more sleep because he usually only naps for an hour or so right after lunch, which is not enough. He just does not like to nap for long during the day. The good thing is that I've managed to get them on the same nap schedule so they both go down at this time:)
Sam's face just lights up when he sees one of us and is always quick to smile. He crinkles his nose up when he's really happy. It just melts your heart! He is such a sweet, good-natured little guy. We love his happy disposition.
He definitely lets us know when he doesn't like something. He has this scream that we've dubbed the pterodactyl. It makes you want to do whatever it takes to make it stop! I think Sam knows how effective it is. We've decided it's his way of saying, "Hey, don't forget about me. I may not be able to talk, but I can get your attention!" There are no tears that accompany this cry, and it stops as soon as he gets more food, moves to a different toy, etc. It's just an attention-getter, and it sure does work! Jake likes to imitate it and can even say pterodactyl! Tricky thing to explain that Sam can't communicate any other way yet and doesn't know the difference between inside and outside voices:) Jake will say, "Sam don't scream inside!" Too funny.
They sure do love each other... and have fun together, too!
This is Sam's super excited smile that turns into a laugh. We love it!
We pulled Jake's house out, and they have been playing with it together.
Sam's starting to get interested in trucks. Check out that look of concentration as he tries to push it.
Sam is always sucking on his lower lip, pulling it in. This is a classic pose.
The shape sorter has become a favorite of his, too.
Happy boy.
Stretching for that ball. He'll end up on his belly doing this and then roll to get what he wants. Crawling would be easier...
Still loves his jumperoo.
