lots of teeth

Six teeth! Yep, Jake has six teeth now, and he's only 7 1/2 months old! At this rate, he'll have a whole mouthful by the time he's one! His sixth tooth, his upper left lateral incisor (that's for you, Ashley, because you sounded so knowledgeable when describing Jackson's teeth) came in yesterday without any difficulty. We really weren't expecting any more for a while, but Jake decided to surprise us:)

Jake got his first two teeth, the lower central incisors, when he was 5 1/2 months old. While we were in Kentucky, his third tooth came in on Wed. Nov. 11th when he was almost 7 months old. This time it was his left upper central incisor. He had only this one upper tooth for about two weeks, and it was hilarious. He would give us his cute little grin, and it was so funny to see just one tooth staring back at us (the bottom ones are not visible when he smiles). It's exciting to see teeth, but we'll miss that sweet gummy grin!

Last week, his fourth and fifth teeth arrived. He got his right upper central incisor last Tuesday (Nov. 24th), and the lower left lateral incisor arrived on Thanksgiving! Just in time for turkey... or maybe sweet potatoes! We could see the upper incisors for days before they actually broke through the skin, but the lateral incisor just popped through without any warning. Or maybe we were simply distracted by waiting for the other upper central incisor. Well, regardless, he now has two front teeth just in time for Christmas!

The only way to see the single tooth was to get him on the changing table and take the picture from below. Not the best picture, but at least you can see his tooth.

His two front teeth!
