parson's mountain

Mark had the weekend before Thanksgiving off from work, so we decided to go hiking that Saturday afternoon. We chose to go to nearby Parson's Mountain State Park in Abbeville, which is about twenty minutes away. There is a fire tower at the top of Parson's Mountain, and the views looked great on the website. Sadly, when we got to the top of the mountain, there was a locked chain link fence around the fire tower! Bummer. Even though almost all the leaves were off the trees, there really were not any good views. Luckily there is a lake at the base, and it was beautiful. Maybe our next hike will have more scenic views. Regardless of this disappointment, it was a gorgeous day, and we enjoyed being in the great outdoors!

Jake enjoying the hike from the comfort of his Ergo.

He loved the zipper on my top, and he really enjoyed me leaning over so he would hang upside down! He would laugh and laugh!

The locked fence. So sad...

Mark's photography.

We saw this bush and had no idea what it was, but thought its colored leaves were pretty and very unique. If anyone knows what it is, please let us know.
