19 months

This past month has flown by! I thought Jake was talking a lot before, but his vocabulary has grown exponentially over the past month. He tries to repeat everything you say, with some words more clear than others:) Some of his best enunciated new words: buckle, button, waffle, hammer, bubble, Bible, toe, hair, moon, star, dirty, turtle, Penny and Harper (our friends' dogs), coins, and money. I know there are others, but this is all I can think of right now.

This month Jake has been enthralled by buckles! No longer does he wake up saying book. Instead it's, "Buckle. Buckle." He wants to buckle everything. As soon as Sam gets out of his swing or bouncy seat, Jake has it buckled within seconds. His fingers aren't strong enough to unbuckle so as soon as the buckle is buckled, he says, "Help please," asking us to unbuckle it for him so he can do it again. And again. And again!

He also discovered zippers this month. One day he spent 30 minutes playing with the zipper on the pack 'n play. I found all sorts of things in its pocket when he was through:) Luckily he hasn't figured out how to unzip his sleepers!

Another of his favorite activities is to look out the window at night before bed looking for the moon and stars. He'll go from window to window until he finds them. He gets confused when he sees the moon during the day and can't find any stars:)

He is a sponge, absorbing new information daily and understanding so much. I can ask him to go get me things while I'm nursing Sam, and he'll go find them and bring them to me. It's amazing. We are having a ball watching him interact and love on Sam. He's very sweet and gentle with his baby brother, which is a huge answer to our prayers!

Playing with the zipper on Daddy's bag.

So peaceful.

Looking for the moon and stars.

I think you should work on saying Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Melanie, and Aunt Jenni before we see you all for Christmas...We will miss you all next week, I can't wait to get my hands on Sam!

Can you believe that Jake is 19 months and Joaquin is 20 months?? They are so old. It is so fun for you to capture that picture of Jake asleep! It's a rare thing to catch these days I'm sure, since I know Jake is a busy boy.
