denver downs farm

This past Saturday we decided to head up near Anderson to visit Denver Downs Farm. They had a pumpkin patch, hayrides, animals, lots of games, and much more. Uncle Tom was in visiting and had already taught Jake how to say, "Tom," which we heard a lot of in the car on the way there:) It made Uncle Tom's day! Sam was content to snuggle me in the Ergo, and Jake had fun running around and checking out the attractions. It was a fun day, and we're so glad Tom could come with us.

This is how Sam spent the day other than the times he was eating:) Before too long he'll be trying to keep up with his big brother.

Jake enjoyed running through the "hay maze" they had set up for little ones.

Trying to decide which way to go:)

They had an elaborate set up for the goats complete with pulleys for taking food to the top of the structure for them to eat.

Petting the goats with Uncle Tom.

Uncle Tom didn't think Jake could adequately pet the goats through the fence so he decided to lift him over. Although it looks like Jake is about to end up in the goats' pen, he remained safely in Tom's arms.

Enjoying the sun on his face:) I just love how red his hair looks in the sunlight with this photo.

They had an adorable cow ride for the little ones- cow cars pulled behind a tractor.

Giving Uncle Tom a high five before the ride.

Jake enjoyed the ride and didn't even try to get out of his seat.

Instead of a sandbox, they had a "cornbox" (my made up word). This was Jake's favorite thing there. He played in it for quite a long time:)

Enjoying the corn and the hay that found its way into the cornbox.

We took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch. Since it was the day before Halloween, the pumpkins had been picked over and the ones left were mostly rotten or misshapen:(

Jake didn't mind. He just wanted to pick up every pumpkin he saw. He would try repeatedly not realizing they were a little too heavy for him. I give him an "A" for effort:)

Walking back from the pumpkin patch.

Our attempt at a family photo. At least we're all looking in the direction of the camera. I think that's the best we can hope for these days:)
