22 months

This past month has flown by. Jake continues to learn more and more each day, adding new words and skills constantly. His favorite shapes are ovals and diamonds; he finds them everywhere and points them out to us! Not the shapes I normally notice, but Jake has changed that:) He has all of the basic colors down and can count to ten (although he usually needs prompting for number nine). He can even recognize a handful of letters.

He now has all of his teeth. The last two year old molar, the bottom right, finally came in on Feb. 5th. As usual, he had no problems with it. It's amazing to see how big all of his other two year molars are getting now that they are coming through more and more. He has a mouthful!

He still loves to read and knows a few of his favorite stories by heart. He'll tell us the lines as soon as we turn the pages. We are constantly amazed by his memory. He remembers places and people very well even if it's only one experience, especially when food is involved:)

He is getting busier and busier. Food used to be the ultimate for him, but now he just wants to play. The amount he consumes in a meal has definitely decreased as of late. Now that it has been warm outside recently, we have been taking advantage of the little playground in our apartment complex. He climbs up the stairs and goes down the big slide all by himself. He loves it when older boys are there and will stop whatever he is doing just to watch them. Definitely in awe of the "big boys", as he calls them!

Jake is still doing very well with the potty and generally stays dry in his pull-up when we're on outings. He even peed and pooped on a big potty while we were in Greenville this past weekend! He still wears diapers at night and for his afternoon nap, which usually lasts about 1- 1.5 hours. He loves his underwear and asks for them after he goes potty first thing upon waking up.

One of our favorite changes is that Jake now asks us to "snuggle"when it's time to go to bed. We usually only stay until we start nodding off, and he doesn't mind us leaving even when he's still awake. It used to be that he would tell us "bye bye" as soon as we finished reading his Bible, singing a hymn, and praying. We are definitely enjoying this special snuggle time! We know it won't last forever:)

Jake loves Sam, and they are interacting more and more. Jake often gets super silly and rambunctious and loves to wrestle. Once Sam starts moving, it is going to get wild and crazy around here! We can't wait!

So precious! He was watching me hang from the monkey bars:)

He loves to bring Sam toys, and especially likes this sheep.

Jake being silly and trying to make Sam laugh. Sam's just looking at him like he's crazy!

Making his valentines. He enjoyed having his hands painted and stamping handprints.
