greenville zoo

Mark took a vacation day last Friday and we were looking forward to a weekend of fun. Sadly, both boys were sick with coughs and yucky noses, and Sam was running a fever. So we just laid low and bummed around the house. However, we decided to head to the Greenville Zoo on Saturday afternoon after Jake's nap despite under the weather kiddos. Sam just slept in the Ergo so he was happy, and Jake rose to the occasion as usual. We enjoyed the afternoon, and Jake loved saying all the animals names. He even pet some goats. We really enjoy this zoo because it's small enough to do in an afternoon and admission isn't too expensive. I'm sure we'll be visiting again soon.

When we paid, they gave us coins to vote for two conservation efforts. Jake chose local conservation and the tigers. He liked putting the coins in and watching them fall into the voting bucket.

Checking out the elephants, which are always a favorite.

It's a good thing he wanted to wear a hat because it was very sunny. When it's "bright" out Jake always asks us to turn it off, meaning the sun. Too funny! He really does not like the sun in his eyes. We're trying to find him some sunglasses that fit.

Jake loved standing on this ledge (with all the big kids) and watching the lion. In fact, he may have liked the ledge better than the lion! This lion paced back and forth in front of the viewing window the entire time we were there. Pretty cool!

Kind of crazy to think that only a few inches of glass separated our little boy from this carnivorous lion!

All smiles!

He wasn't afraid to pet the goats at all. He saw he holes and walked right up, sticking his hand in immediately! (You can see Sam's foot hanging down from the Ergo. He was there, I promise:) Just sleeping!

Very Cute! Try Childrens Place for sunglasses!
