15 months

Jake had his 15 month check-up on Monday, and he was great. He sat there and let Dr. Danny look in his ears without anyone holding him down or helping to keep him still. It was pretty impressive, if you ask me:) He received three shots, but the tears tapered off as soon as I pulled out his treat- a banana! Bananas fix lots of bumps and bruises for Jake. If only this would remain the case as he gets older!

He weighed 21 lbs 11 oz. (13th percentile), but I think in reality he's probably closer to the 25th percentile because he hadn't had lunch yet. He napped right up until his appointment so I packed his food. Right after they weighed him, he ate a whole PB&J sandwich, a handful of goldfish, 3/4 of a large banana, and probably 6 oz. of water! That's almost a pound of food right there! Oh well, we're not really concerned about his weight- he eats very well! He has twelve teeth (he got his bottom left molar on June 1st and his bottom right molar on June 10th), and he's working on getting four more! His eye teeth are going to make an appearance soon, I think. He was 31 inches tall (48th percentile) so he's finally dropped off his 75th percentile curve. We expected this as neither Mark nor I are very tall people:) His 12-18 month shorts are still too big in the waist, but he's wearing 18-24 month shirts; he gets that long torso from me (one of my few contributions). All in all, everything looked fantastic, and he is developing right on track!

He is a very busy little guy. He is now walking all the time and not crawling anymore. He understands so much more than he can say. When we say it's time to go bye-bye he goes over to the door and sits on his stool and tries to put his shoes on. He usually responds immediately when you tell him, "No sir. That's a no touch." Obviously, as with all things, this isn't all the time:) He helps pick up his toys and loves to read books. He'll bring a book and say, "Read it." He signs please, more, thank you, and all finished, but also says more and tries to say please. He puts two words together and will say, "More please." He has such a sweet, laid back disposition and loves other children. From the way things look now, we think he will love having a baby brother. We'll soon find out... We love watching him grow and change and do new things all the time. We are having so much fun with our little man!
