hiking

A vacation to the Smoky Mountains just wouldn't be complete without a hike to view some of the beautiful park. On Saturday afternoon some of us decided to hike to Hen Wallow Falls. Thankfully it wasn't too hot!   It was about 4 1/2 miles roundtrip, and we were rewarded with a lovely waterfall. The Ergo still works fantastic and Jake rode both on the front and on the back. Grandpa carried him halfway on his back, and I carried him on my front when it was apparent that he needed a nap and only wanted his Mommy:) All in all, we had a wonderful afternoon enjoying God's creation!

Jake pointing at all the trees and leaves. He loves plants and flowers, so he really enjoyed our hike- while he was awake, that is!

Andy with Jackson on his back and Grandpa with Jake crossing one of the many bridges over a creek.

Jake feeling tree bark and moss. Grandpa was so good to stop often so Jake could feel trees and such.

Jake was sleeping when we arrived at the falls so he missed out. It may have been a good thing because I could see him wanting to touch the water and being not too happy when we wouldn't let him!

All the hikers at Hen Wallow Falls.

Front Row: Ashley, Allison, Grandpa

Will you send me an email about the little carrier thing you have for Jake? I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get two kids around a city with no escalators or elevators. Do you like it? Recommend it? I want something easy to use and not too bulky (cause it's always hot outside) and something that can be used with a little baby.
Thanks!
